TOLUCA LAKE

In a previous era, Forman Toluca Ranch was recognized for its abundant fruits
and nuts. Today, the prosperous Ranch is known as Toluca Lake, California, encompassing tree lined streets and stunning estates.

Contained within the cities of Los Angeles, California and Burbank, California, Toluca Lake was established almost a decade ago by Hollywood investors and developers naming the expansion Toluca Lake.

Two scenic and peaceful lakes, one on the Los Angeles side and the other on the Burbank side, are surrounded by Lakeside Golf Club and beautiful estates. Owned by the homes which border it, the Toluca Lake Property Owners Association, a non-profit corporation, assists with maintaining and keeping the lake clean.

Originally, the springs from the outcropping of the Valley's water table supplied the lake with water. At present, wells from the lake's edges supply water and the entire bottom of the lake is surfaced with concrete to stop the water from seeping.

The lake covers approximately 6 acres and varies in depth from 18 inches to 10 feet.  Supplied with fish and used as a recreation site for boating and swimming, the lake is undoubtedly a private gateway in your own backyard if you are one of the fortunate few to live on its banks.

Early boundaries of Toluca Lake, California, began at Cahuenga Bouldvard, Clybourn Avenue, Camarillo Street and the Los Angeles River.  In 1939, these boundaries were included in documents of the Toluca Lake Civic Association. Other neighboring streets have been included and are not linked to Toluca Lake.

While the major portion of the lake spans the rolling green lawns of private residences, about one-third of the southeast shore forms part of the boundary of the Lakeside Golf Club.

Distinctive for its soothing neighborhood and picturesque homes, professionals seeking to "escape" the city but still remain in Los Angeles reside in Toluca Lake.

Valley Spring Lane was the first street to have a home built on it.  Near the Golf Club, the home later became the home of Ameila Earheart.

Hosting a variety of restaurants and accommodations, Toluca Lake has it all.  Enjoy your morning cup of coffee at Priscilla's Gourmet Coffee house, grab a delicious sandwich at Honey Baked Ham or Trader Joes and appreciate dinner or a glass of wine at many restaurants that border Riverside Drive.

For visitors, the Graciela Hotel is nestled away in a private area in the center of the entertainment capital of the world.  Providing 5-star accommodations, this luxury boutique hotel is embellished with a rooftop sundeck with a Jacuzzi, a library lounge and outstanding concierge services.

Toluca Lake has a chamber of commerce and a property owner's association.  The residents of Toluca Lake, California know that they own a piece of California history and take pride when it is referred to as the Beverly Hills of the San Fernando Valley.
